Dhurandhar is likely the movie you’ve seen mentioned everywhere if you are into Bollywood thrillers and spy-action flicks. And you know what? This film is one of those rare occasions where the buzz it generates is absolutely justified. I feel like I’m telling you this in a tea break, because everything seems to be big, disorderly, and exhilarating – just like a nice Friday night at the cinema should be.

Dhurandhar hit the big screens across India on December 5, 2025. The movie is a directional venture of Aditya Dhar and has on board the power-packed ensemble of Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.
The storyline, however, is quite a fascinating aspect: the movie is designed as a two-part saga. So the producers have already confirmed Part Two – yes, there is going to be a sequel. The subsequent part, Dhurandhar 2, is set to release on March 19, 2026.
The precise public accounts of the entire budget are somewhat unclear. What we know, however, is this: Dhurandhar is a large-scale production. The scope of the film includes elaborate action sequences, big star cast, and sweeping story arcs. The fact that it is divided into two parts indicates that the makers have shot a large amount of footage.
For you, that means – a high production value can be expected. Large sets. Immense cinematography. Powerful music and background score. All these tell you that you are getting a “big film” experience if you go to the theatre to see Dhurandhar.
Being a major star power movie with a heavy buzz, Dhurandhar has resulted in ticket booking in advance which has already been done for a long time in many cinemas. Early birds who booked their seats have got the advantage. Theatres are running the early-morning and prime-time shows to meet the demand.
In case you are going to see the film, I would advise you to make a reservation beforehand (if you haven’t already). The film’s debut weekend has been robust.
The first installment is lengthy. It has been reported that it is almost 214 minutes long, thus, it is one of the longest mainstream Hindi films in recent times. So get ready, bring popcorn, carry a bottle of water, and make your time. It is a 3.5 hours journey.
It is also a matter of time until you can enjoy the film at home. A major platform has already acquired the digital/streaming rights. The idea is to release Dhurandhar on OTT after its theatrical run.
Therefore, if you don’t get to see it in cinemas, there is no need to be worried. A few weeks after the theatrical show ends, you should be able to watch it online.
This is what I thought while watching it. The movie shows a harsh world of spy-action. The location, the mood, the threat – everything is packed with intensity. Ranveer Singh is the main reason for the success, and the ensemble cast is the one that gives the story weight and power.
The movie is about secret operations, betrayal, and a difficult mission in a hostile place. It does not pretend to be light. It gets dark, it gets serious. And if you are a fan of thrillers, this one is a sure bet.

However, it is not great altogether. Its length makes it somewhat heavy. Sometimes the pacing slows down. There are instances where you might think, was it necessary to be so long? But the majority of viewers that I have talked to said that the convincing performances and the high stakes make the time spent worthwhile.
Dhurandhar is a movie that combines action thriller elements with a spy drama, and is presented on a large scale. It is a definite yes if you don’t mind long films and intense themes.
In case your preference is for lighthearted plots, short runtime, and easy stories, consider saving it for the OTT platform. This way, you will be able to watch at your convenience, pause whenever you want, and not be bothered by runtime.
This is my thought. Dhurandhar has courage. It attempts something huge. It attempts to give a serial of a serious spy-thriller in a Bollywood style. And almost entirely, it manages to do so.
Yes, it is not without its shortcomings. The runtime is a risk. The two-part format may annoy some viewers who are accustomed to full stories. But, if you come with the right mindset, it can be a powerful and unforgettable experience.
I left the cinema with a feeling of having just been a part of the ambitious viewing. An experience that did not try to mask glamour. One that tried to deal with stakes, emotion, and danger. If you were to seek my opinion, I would say that it is a movie to be seen, particularly on the big screen.
Dhurandhar is at the theatre right now. It was released on December 5, 2025. Tickets are being bought. People are talking. And a sequel is already scheduled for March 19, 2026.
If you are a fan of big Bollywood action, a strong cast, and thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat — then definitely go. If you prefer slow, calm, and simple stories — maybe wait for the OTT streaming.
